Dennis La is an associate in AFRCT’s litigation department.
He specializes in commercial and real estate litigation, and has substantial experience in pre-judgment remedies including obtaining and opposing injunctions, writs of attachment, and appointment of receiverships.
Dennis has represented national banks, businesses, and entrepreneurs in all phases of litigation in California federal and state court.
Dennis is an “east coast transplant” from New York. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree in political science and music from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his legal career, Dennis was an Information Technology Consultant with Deloitte Consulting (Deloitte & Touche, LLC) and provided IT services to financial firms such as Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. Dennis subsequently received his Juris Doctor from Fordham Law University in Manhattan. He is a member of the New York bar.
Dennis has also represented national banks in both the commercial and residential context. Prior to AFRCT, he handled the litigation of a small business credit portfolio for JPMorgan Chase, N.A. Dennis also routinely obtained interim orders appointing receivers for Cathay Bank to protect assets during a commercial loan default. Dennis further specializes in residential loan litigation and California’s non-judicial foreclosure statutes. In Sese v. Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., et al., he successfully opposed and prevailed on the first-known motion for fees filed by a borrower under the 2013 California Homeowners’ Bill of Rights. Dennis is admitted to practice law in all California Courts, and the United States District Court, Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California.
Outside of the office, Dennis enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, and enjoys sports and studying history.
He is also a musician in the Los Angeles area, and was formerly the music director for an a cappella singing group that featured John Legend.

Dennis’ legal practice in California includes representation of a wide array of clients in different industries. Verbally fluent in Korean, Dennis represented Korean businesses in Los Angeles such as Samho Tour, Inc. and Todai Restaurant, LLC.
His practice further expanded to intellectual property and entertainment matters. In Dark Hall Productions, LLC v. Sun Jee Yoo, et al., Dennis successfully obtained an injunction of $1.9 million of investment funds in dispute for a feature film production.
In Sysmaster Corporation v. Call Termination, et al., Dennis successfully defended against copyright and trademark infringement claims concerning internet commerce of telecommunication products.
