One of the great strengths of AFRCT is its talented group of attorneys. Today we are highlighting Andrew Wheaton: Andrew Wheaton grew up in Los Angeles and is a married father of three. Although he is an avid Laker fan and loves spending time on the basketball court, his real talent is in the court of law. Andrew has practiced law for 21 years since graduating from Harvard Law School. He did the majority of his undergraduate work at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was involved in student leadership. Andrew also spent one summer attending Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs through a Ford Foundation fellowship and another summer attending Louisiana State University through a American Political Science Association fellowship.

Andrew has a bit of Southern California entertainment in his blood, having appeared in two home makeover television shows – “Merge” with Lisa Rinna and “Carter Can” with Carter Oosterhouse. He has also been involved in some notable entertainment law cases, including the representation of Bon Jovi in a contract dispute (Phantom Productions v. Bon Jovi Touring), a dispute involving Whoopi Goldberg and the T-Rex Movie (Whoop, Inc. v. Dyno Productions) and a dispute involving ownership of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Star Patrol Enterprises, Inc. v. Saban Entertainment).

When not working on AFRCT matters, Andrew enjoys hanging out with his family, traveling, golfing and running. Andrew is a well-respected professional and a trusted advocate for his clients. When asked about his work at AFRCT, Andrew notes that “I enjoy the novel legal issues that I am called upon to address on a regular basis. I also enjoy the supportive and congenial work environment, which promotes idea sharing.” He adds, “AFRCT has many of the advantages of a large law firm, yet the agility of a smaller firm, where everyone’s voice is heard.”
